Accounting and Payroll Specialist

Summary:
An Accounting and Payroll Specialist position just opened on our Finance team and we’re hoping you’ll join us! This critical role will manage semi-monthly payroll cycles and ensure timely payments to vendors and customer invoicing. Additionally, you’ll work directly with our Controller and assist in the closing process, customer invoicing, audit schedule preparation, account reconciliation, and ad-hoc report preparation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with ADP, MS Dynamics Great Plains, reconciling accounts, and working with internal and external stakeholders.  

Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly payroll and run corresponding payroll reports
  • Responsible for maintaining Accounts Payable processes, including entering invoices and processing payments
  • Reconcile monthly Concur expenses with company credit card statement and import data into MS Dynamics Great Plains
  • Manage full processing of all customer invoices
  • Create journal entries and pull reports using MS Dynamics Great Plains
  • Support the annual audit, completing schedules, providing necessary documentation and support to Controller
  • Maintain weekly cash forecast spreadsheet and assist with forecasting process as needed
  • File all applicable Sales Tax Returns and Annual Renewals
  • Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare, develop and modify ad-hoc financial schedules as needed
  • Compile data for inter-company labor and expense invoicing
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Accounting background with 1-2 years experience preferred
  • Solid technical skills in MS Office, ADP, MS Dynamics Great Plains or other accounting ERP software
  • Experience using Stripe and/or Concur a plus
  • Demonstrated growth in taking on more responsibilities
  • Self-starter; able to manage time, prioritize and work with little supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to work with a diverse group of internal staff and external vendors
